White Paint Before You Vacate

Is it worth painting an apartment even though you have to paint it back to white before you leave?
There are many apartments that you are allowed to paint the walls, but you have to paint it back to white before you leave. Do you feel it’s worth it? Know of any other ways people have decorated the interior to make it less boring? I want it to be more exciting, but not so trendy that people don’t want to sit down.

It depends on how long you are going to stay there and how big the apartment is. If you are planning on living there for years and its small and not so much of a hassle to paint then go for it.
if you don’t plan on painting, you could put wall decals on the wall, some are removable and others can be easily painted over when you leave. (try greenergrassdesign.com) you can also hang up lantarns and posters and decorate the floors with warm accent rugs.

there are many other things one could spend money and time on, rather than painting one’s apartment and causing issues with the landlord and management. (i know they say it’s ok but they have issues with it, believe me, and even if you paint it back you won’t get your deposit back, so don’t bother)

I think it would be cheaper to hang up a lot of artwork, even your own pictures, you still have to buy frames for them, but maybe do something even more creative? If you don’t have to worry about the money then go ahead and paint! It’s always more cozy if the walls are other color than white.

nope… use colorful rugs, throws, pillows, covers, lamp shades, even window treatments to add color. Don’t repaint… waist of time and money. Buy something you will be able to take with you when you move or sell and buy new when you want to change colors!!
