Simple Steps to Declutter before it Invades You

The Biggest hurdle most people have with getting rid of clutter and getting organized is, not knowing how to begin or where to get started. So it gets put off until after, of course the reasons are usually decent .
For one , we have a lot happening in our lives. We are all over the place and there never seems to be decent time to have anything done. And it’s easier to put organizing until later because you assume it’ll take up too much time right now .
The other priorities — like eating and sleeping (minor things, right?) of course are top priority on the tasks . But organizing yourself doesn’t have to be so time consuming every single day.
And if you don’t begin with getting organized, even if just a small portion at a time, there are some very real negative effects that, well, could seriously harm you .
A little dramatic , possibly but the affect clutter and disorganization has on your health is very, very real. It adds unecessary weight to your already busy life. It sucks away your vitality and makes you tired. And in many individual , it raises the symptoms of slump.
But enough of the negative stuff here’s how we can benefit from being organized and clearing clutter for good:
-More sleep.
-A better mood every day .
-Better relationships.
-Easier house management .
-Your bills get paid on time.
-More space .
-More time to do things you actually appreciate !
All these things are really impactful and getting organized ought not be delayed any longer. But I know it is still too easy to put it off for “later.” I will be honest , the here and now makes it easier to just leave things on the counter, on chairs and tables or throw things in closets and drawers.
It’s too easy to leave things down and ignore my simple and important rule of “touch it once.” although, like I mentioned earlier clutter can be devastating and this is no laughing matter .
A while back their was a story of a 62 year old woman from Washington that was found dead beneath nearly six feet of dishes, boxes and “clutter” that apparently collapsed on her a very sad and very drastic story .
Looking back at this poor woman’s life back approximately thirty years. How many days pass by when she procrastinated and told herself she would “get to it later ?”
Now I hope your situation is not as severe but reality is reality. And unless you get things under control right away , you just don’t know what a disorganized house can become . At the very least I expect you’re feeling stressed and a little frustrated with a real desire to simplify your life at home.
It’s not much to demand , is it?
And we all know stress is harmful . But maybe your situation isn’t so out-of-control, and you just have a desire to get rid of clutter and get your things in order. Or you need to manage document better because it happens that you forget to pay a bill that was sitting somewhere in a pile (because you don’t have a real system for your bills — which you need.)
No big deal , right ? After all, what’s a $5 payment here or a $35 late fee there?
It adds up.
So how about you take a step towards ending clutter in your house and getting organized before it kills you?
